Spring Layers: The Illusion Dress

There was a time when the rules of fashion were so strict and sacred, and to break any would be fashion suicide. But these days those rules are barely regarded and I love it. For what is the fun in dressing up if you can't play around. Sincerely, I still find myself riding on the edge of safety but I am slowly evolving and more willing to try any look that excites me.

Today's post features a look I created for this cold Spring weather in New York City (even with the bright sun). According to the weather forecast, we still have a few days of the cold before we get to enjoy some warmth (and rain). But since it's officially Spring, I get to style bright colors as much as I like.
This dress by Maggy London was a giveaway prize (by Kelaskloset) from over four years ago and I still love it till date. The style, cut and print of a dress can make a difference in how you look in it - the print and black illusion panel on this dress makes me look somewhat thicker and curvier than I really am. At my first glance at the pictures, I thought my weight gain diet and exercise were paying off but I looked at a picture I had taken the previous day and I realized it was all an illusion lol. Has that ever happened to you before?

What better way to add and edge to any look than to throw on a biker jacket.
