Postpartum Style: Crop Top and Jeggings

Happy Thursday friends, hope you've had a wonderful week so far? Today I am sharing one of my postpartum style secrets: high waisted jeans with a free-sized crop top.

Dressing your postpartum body can be a little difficult sometimes as you still might not fit in your pre-pregnancy clothes just yet and your maternity clothes might be looking too big and frumpy now that the bump is gone. Granted, you still have a little pooch in its place but it is not enough to fill out those extra spaces/pouches in the maternity clothes. And besides, you likely don't want to show that extra body anyway. Hence, my choice of clothing pieces -
The super high waisted jeggings: During these early postpartum days, you would want to wear clothes that are not stiff and uncomfortable. So many people run away from jeans because they are thick and almost always uncomfortable. I am one of them as well; so I go for the soft jegging instead. The high waist part of the jegging is so necessary as it helps to hold all that extra mushy-mushy around the belly area together and holds it in to give you a flatter looking belly, even without the use of the belly bands and shapers.

The free crop top: One of the most stylish ways to wear a high waisted anything, is to pair it with a crop top. The new mother doesn't have to miss out on this style, all you have to do is to pick a crop top that is not clingy. That way you have that extra space that helps to also hide some of that belly you don't want to show.

The soft shoes: Whatever your plans for the day may be, you need super comfortable shoes. The last thing you want to do is to add feet discomfort or pain to the long list of other things that might already be making you feel uncomfortable.

Other things to note include:
- remember to keep accessories minimal;
- if you are breastfeeding, wear tops that provide easy access to your baby's food storage aka your boobs lol. These tops can be nursing tops (like this, this, this), zipper tops (like this), button down tops (like this, this, this) or wrap tops (like this);
- you might have to fall in love with the hair in a bun or hair tied back look or you can decide to join the team short hair;
- your makeup may have to now be done in just 5 steps that take 2 minutes or less lol.
Most importantly, just remember to enjoy every step of the postpartum journey and love the body that housed that beautiful bundle of joy that you are now obsessed with for 9-10 months.
